L’installation Dinner for Two: Gold, présente un dîner interactif entre deux écrans qui se font face, de part et d’autre d’une longue table dressée. Des chandelles, tout un décor de table pour deux convives bien que présents, absents physiquement.

Dinner for Two: Gold, décrit l’impact  des différentes technologies sur les relations humaines qui disparaissent. Téléphone, e-mails, vidéo-conférences, tant d’outils pour faciliter la communication mais qui réduisent considérablement l’authenticité des rapports sociaux et privés. Que deviennent ces échanges superficiels sans internet, ni technologies avancées?

Rachel Lee Hovnanian a pensé un dîner digital ,  durant lequel  des convives absents communiquent indirectement et instantanément, sans chaleur humaine, figé dans la technologie  d’une époque en pleine mutation. Quel avenir pour les sociétés des pays industrialisés sous l’emprise de la technologie?  L’oeuvre interroge son contexte socio-économique, les citoyens, le monde…

The Rachel Lee Hovnanian’s installation Dinner for Two: Gold, shows us an interactive dinner between two screens facing each other, on both sides of a long table set. Candles, any table decor for two guests although present, but physically absent.

Dinner for Two: Gold, describes the impact of different technologies on human relationships that disappear over time. Telephone, e-mail, video conferencings, such as tools to facilitate communication but significantly reduce the authenticity of social and private relationships. What happens to these superficial exchanges without internet or advanced technologies?

Rachel Lee Hovnanian thought a digital dinner, during which the absent guests exchange  indirectly  and instantly, without  the warmth of human communication , but frozen in the technology of a time which constantly changing. Which future for  societies of industrialized countries under the influence of technology? The work of art questions its socio-economic context of this time, all the citizens, the world …
