Une performance artistique d’un nouveau genre est signée: Stromae simule d’être en état d’ivresse sur la voie publique, alors qu’il est en pleine réalisation de son nouveau clip vidéo!

Un clip tournée en vidéo cachée

« Formidable » a été tourné intégralement en caméra cachée. Ce qui éloigne Stromae des courants actuels de l’industrie musicale tels les productions vidéo à gros budgets ou à effets 3D qui mettent l’accent sur la personne de l’artiste, et un environnement de vie imaginaire. L’auteur compositeur belge joue un personnage sous l’emprise de l’alcool. Ce personnage qui erre dans les rues de Bruxelles est Stromae.

Les caméras cachées relèvent de ce voyeurisme que suscitent les vies des célébrités. La presse people, les réseaux sociaux, et internet sont autant d’outils qui permettent de passer les moindres faits et gestes de ces personnalités, sous l’oeil chirurgical du citoyen lambda.

« Bourré » et  dans un état proche de la démence, personne n’approche Stromae, si ce n’est par compassion: a-t-il sombré dans l’alcool? Est-ce la fin de sa carrière après avoir touché le jackpot?

Stromae ne se présente pas sous son meilleur jour, et cette mise en abyme de sa propre personne et de sa célébrité sont habilement imbriquées au besoin de son clip « Formidable » !

Simple et efficace, sa détresse est assez palpable pour repenser et redéfinir le terme «  Formidable », sous la pluie battante et le ciel gris de Bruxelles.

Stromae, l’auteur du tube « Alors on danse? »  est-il en phase de devenir un  artiste hors pair? A vous de juger.

A   music video made with hidden cameras 

« Formidable » was entirely shot with  hidden cameras.This takes Stromae away from current trends in the music industry such as big-budget video productions and other  3D effects that focus on the person of the artist, and an imaginary living space. The  Belgian singer  plays a character under the influence of alcohol. But this character is seen on the Brussels streets,  stays Stromae for the people.

The hidden cameras play with this nowadays voyeurism about celebrities’ lives. The tabloids, social networks, and  Internet are all the tools that allows  ordinary citizens to analyze each move of these personnalities, under a  surgical look.

Totally drunk in a near state of crazyness, nobody  approaches Stromae , if it is not by compassion : did he sink into alcohol? Is  the end of his career after hitting the jackpot?

Stromae does not appear in his best light, and this recursion of his own person is skillfully interlinked with his own fame  for the need of his music video « Formidable » !
Simple and effective, his distress is palpable enough in order to rethink and redefine the term  » Formidable » under the Brussels pouring rain and  its grey sky.
