Passionnée par les arts visuels et la création contemporaine, particulièrement sur le continent africain…  Précédemment étudiante en Arts plastiques,  african links est mon espace d’expression.

Sensible à la création contemporaine, particulièrement sur le continent africain, je découvre le domaine de l’art contemporain africain, auprès d’André Magnin, pour enfin en connaître les rouages en étant chargée de missions au sein du studio de l’artiste pluridisciplinaire Barthélémy Toguo.

C’est au sein de Raw Material Company qu’elle se confronte au commissariat d’exposition. Virginie rejoint l’équipe de 1:54 la première foire internationale d’art africain contemporain, lancée par Touria El Glaoui, pour ses deux premières éditions, à Londres.

Entre arts plastiques, coopération internationale et histoire, ses thèmes de recherche s’articulent autour du concept d’africanité dans l’art contemporain, du statut de l’artiste africain  et de la perception de la femme noire dans la société française.

Passionate about visual arts and contemporary art, especially on the African continent … Previously Fine Arts student, african links is my  space of expression.

Sensitive to contemporary art, especially on the African continent, Virginie Ehonian discovers the field of contemporary African art, during a half-year-internship in André Magnin’s Parisian office, to finally know its essential mechanism , as  head of mission in the studio of the multidisciplinary artist Barthélémy Toguo.

During her journey at Raw Material Company ,  she dealt with curating methods. Virginie joined the team of 1:54 the first international fair of contemporary African art, launched by Touria El Glaoui, for its first two editions, in London.

Between visual arts, Cooperation and history, her research themes are about the concept of « Africaness » in contemporary art, the status of the  « African » artist and the perception of the black woman in the French society.
